A proxy lets your app visit a website from another place. The site sees the proxy’s IP address instead of yours. An IP address is the address a device uses on the internet.

How it works

Your app talks to ProxyLane. We pass the request to a real home in your chosen city, and it leaves from there. The site sees that home’s IP instead of yours.
Your laptop in Berlin sends a request to ProxyLane. ProxyLane passes it to a real home in Chicago on Comcast, and it goes out from there. The website sees a home network in Chicago on Comcast. The website does not see your Berlin IP.

Where do I put it?

You paste the proxy into the app you use, like a browser profile or a script. Our app guides show where. Opening the ProxyLane dashboard alone does not turn the proxy on in your browser.

Does it make me anonymous?

No. 🙈 A proxy changes only your IP. Websites can still recognize your login, cookies or browser. Your browser leaves a fingerprint: screen size, fonts, time zone, language and more. If ten accounts share one browser, the site sees one person behind ten IPs. For several accounts, use an antidetect browser together with the proxy. It gives each account its own browser profile with its own fingerprint and cookies. You then put a separate proxy into each profile.
