Connect one browser profile to ProxyLane and check its internet protocol (IP) address.

Before starting

In the ProxyLane dashboard, open Advanced options and set Protocol to SOCKS5. Select Keep the same IP for a browsing session, then generate a new connection and copy its values. A sticky session can still change address if its connection becomes unavailable.

SOCKS5 is the proxy protocol used in this guide. Select it in both ProxyLane and the browser app.

Connect Incogniton

Create a profile

Click Create profile, enter a name, and select Create. Open the profile’s Proxy tab.

Add the connection

Choose Custom proxy and the SOCKS5 connection type. Fill the proxy fields with the ProxyLane host, port, username, and password. In older versions, host and port share one field: <HOST>:<PORT>. Use the proxy password, not the account password.

Check and save

Select Check. Once the check succeeds, select Save. Older versions label these controls Check proxy and Create profile.

Open the profile

Select Launch in the profile list.

Check the result

  1. Open the IP check inside the new browser window.
  2. Open the same check in a regular browser on the same computer, with its proxy off.
  3. Compare the ip values. Different values confirm a different connection address. If they match, recheck the selected profile and its proxy settings.
  4. Open the intended website in the profile. An IP check alone does not prove that another website accepts the connection.

If the connection fails

Use Custom proxy even when the ProxyLane address rotates. Incogniton’s separate Rotating proxy option expects an IP-change address supplied by the provider. Confirm that traffic is available in ProxyLane. Connection troubleshooting covers the next checks. Official Incogniton setup instructions
