Connect one browser profile to ProxyLane and check its internet protocol (IP) address.

In the ProxyLane dashboard, open Advanced options. Select Keep the same IP for a browsing session. A sticky session can still change address if its connection becomes unavailable.

HTTP means Hypertext Transfer Protocol; HTTPS is its secure variant.

Connect Octo Browser

Create a profile

Click Quick Profile. In the new profile row, click Direct, then Set a new proxy/VPN.

Add the connection

Stay on the proxy tab. Paste the following format into Host, also labelled Enter IP or domain:
Use the ProxyLane connection values in place of the placeholders, including their angle brackets. Octo fills the other fields automatically. Use the proxy password, not the account password.

Check and save

Click Check proxy. Wait for “Available”, then confirm the connection.

Open the profile

Click Start beside the profile. In older versions, the launch control is a triangle.

Check the result

  1. Open the IP check inside the new browser window.
  2. Open the same check in a regular browser on the same computer, with its proxy off.
  3. Compare the ip values. Different values confirm a different connection address. If they match, recheck the selected profile and its proxy settings.
  4. Open the intended website in the profile. An IP check alone does not prove that another website accepts the connection.

If the connection fails
