Connect one AdsPower profile, then check its internet protocol (IP) address.

Prerequisites

SOCKS5 is the proxy protocol used in this guide. Select it in both ProxyLane and the browser app. For a browsing session, select Keep the same IP when creating the connection. Sticky sessions can still change address if the exit becomes unavailable.

Connect the profile

Create a profile

Click New Profile and enter a profile name.

Choose the proxy type

Open Proxy, choose Custom, and set Proxy type to SOCKS5.

Enter the connection details

Copy the generated connection values into these fields:
  • Host:Port: host and port, separated by a colon
  • Proxy username: proxy username
  • Proxy Password: proxy password, not the ProxyLane account password
Leave Change IP URL empty. URL means uniform resource locator; this field accepts a separate address for requesting an IP change.

Check the connection

Click Check Proxy. Wait for “Connection test passed”, then click OK.

Open the profile

Find the saved profile on Profiles and click Open.

Verify the result

  1. Open the IP check in the AdsPower profile.
  2. Open the same check in a regular browser on the same computer, with its proxy off.
  3. Compare the ip values. Different values confirm a different exit address. If they match, recheck the profile’s proxy settings.
  4. Open the intended website in AdsPower. An IP check does not prove that this website accepts the connection.

Troubleshoot
