# Set up your first proxy

> Get your proxy details, then add them to your app.

[Create an account](https://proxylane.dev/register) or [sign in](https://proxylane.dev/login).

    Open [Payments](https://proxylane.dev/dashboard/billing) and choose a package. Traffic is the data your proxy uses, measured in GB.

    Wait until your dashboard shows available traffic.

    Open [Residential proxies](https://proxylane.dev/dashboard/proxies). Choose a **Country**, then **Rotate every request**.

    In **Advanced settings**, choose **HTTP / HTTPS** as the **Protocol**. Click **Generate connection**. You should see **Ready to connect**.

## Try it out

Click **Test connection** in the dashboard, then open a website from your app. Both checks matter: the dashboard cannot check your app’s settings.

  Check your order in [Payments](https://proxylane.dev/dashboard/billing). Your payment may be received while traffic is still being prepared. Check the existing order before paying again.
