# Connect Linken Sphere

> Set up a ProxyLane proxy in Linken Sphere and check the connection.

Use ProxyLane in one Linken Sphere browser profile.

Install and sign in to **Linken Sphere**. Then [create an HTTP proxy](/quickstart). Keep its [host, port, username, and password](/connection-settings) ready. For a browsing session, choose **Keep the same IP** under ProxyLane’s **Advanced options > IP rotation**.

## Set it up

1. Turn off **Quick** if it is enabled, then click **New Session**. This opens the settings form. Enter a **Session name**.
2. Open **Connection** and choose **HTTP**. Enter your ProxyLane **host**, **port**, **login**, and **password**. Login is your proxy username.
3. Click **Check proxy and geo**. A successful check displays the IP and country.
4. Click **Create and launch** to save the session and open its browser window.

## Check it works

Inside the new browser window, open [the IP check](https://api.ipify.org?format=json). You should see an `ip` value. Compare it with the same check in your regular browser on this computer, with its proxy off. Then open the website you actually need; an IP check alone does not prove that site works.

  If the session cannot launch, check that **Connection** is set to **HTTP**, not **Not Set**. **Direct** uses your normal connection, without ProxyLane. [Follow the connection checks](/troubleshooting) or [ask support](/support). Never send your proxy password.
