# Connect Indigo X

> Set up a ProxyLane proxy in Indigo X and check the connection.

Use ProxyLane in one Indigo X browser profile.

This guide is for **Indigo X**. Install its desktop agent and sign in. Then [create an HTTP proxy](/quickstart). Keep its [host, port, username, and password](/connection-settings) ready. For a browsing session, choose **Keep the same IP** under ProxyLane’s **Advanced options > IP rotation**.

## Set it up

1. Sign in to Indigo X and check that **Agent connected** appears. The desktop agent must be running to test proxies and launch profiles.
2. Click **Create**, name the profile, and open **Proxy**. Select **Custom**, then **HTTP**.
3. Fill **IP or host**, **Port**, **Login**, and **Password** with your ProxyLane values. **Login** means your proxy username.
4. Click **Check proxy**. Wait for **Proxy check passed**, then click **Create Profile** and launch it. The first launch may download browser components.

## Check it works

Inside the new browser window, open [the IP check](https://api.ipify.org?format=json). You should see an `ip` value. Compare it with the same check in your regular browser on this computer, with its proxy off. Then open the website you actually need; an IP check alone does not prove that site works.

  If checking or launching is unavailable, reconnect the Indigo agent first. A connected agent is required even though you manage profiles through a web interface. [Follow the connection checks](/troubleshooting) or [ask support](/support). Never send your proxy password.
