# Connect BitBrowser

> Set up a ProxyLane proxy in BitBrowser and check the connection.

Use ProxyLane in one BitBrowser browser profile.

Install and sign in to **BitBrowser**. Then [create an HTTP proxy](/quickstart). Keep its [host, port, username, and password](/connection-settings) ready. For a browsing session, choose **Keep the same IP** under ProxyLane’s **Advanced options > IP rotation**.

## Set it up

1. Open **Browsers** and click **Add browser**. Give the browser profile a name.
2. Select **Custom Proxy Method**, then choose **HTTP** as the proxy type.
3. Fill **Host**, **Port**, **Username**, and **Password** with the matching ProxyLane values. Put only the hostname in **Host**, without `http://` or the port.
4. Run BitBrowser’s proxy connection test. If it connects, save the profile and open it from **Browsers**.

## Check it works

Inside the new browser window, open [the IP check](https://api.ipify.org?format=json). You should see an `ip` value. Compare it with the same check in your regular browser on this computer, with its proxy off. Then open the website you actually need; an IP check alone does not prove that site works.
